Where are all the great bosses in Wales?

With only a month to go before nominations close for Britain’s Best Boss 2009*, competition organisers Working Families have received no nominations from Wales. This is all the more surprising because the winner in 2005 was Iwan Owen, a Sergeant in the North Wales Police.
Iwan has a simple recipe for being a great boss: “Trust your staff”. When he became Britain’s Best Boss, he was the manager of the Professional Development Unit which trained student police officers in the Western Division in operational law enforcement. He introduced a high degree of flexibility and autonomy for individuals and, as a result, developed a highly motivated and effective team, which trained a force with the best detection rate in the UK.
