Volvo wins prestigious truck test

VOLVO WINS PRESTIGIOUS TRUCK TEST

Volvo is the most economical heavy truck in Europe, according to the Trans
Euro Test - the Millennium Challenge.

The Trans Euro Test is annually arranged by a number of leading European
truck magazines. The test was run between Antwerp and Milan, a distance of
1800 kilometres. Three different variables were measured; fuel
consumption, average speed, and chassis weight. These three variables were
weighed together in a productivity formula.
This year, the Volvo FH12 420 won the test totally and was also distinctly
best regarding fuel consumption.

- We are very proud and pleased with the victory in the 1999 Trans Euro
Test. Transport economy is vital for our customers and at all times in
focus for us. These results confirm the competitiveness of the FH truck,
says Karl-Erling Trogen, President of the Volvo Truck Corporation.
