VOLVO AERO SECURES IMPORTANT ORDER

Volvo Aero Corporation has secured an order from General Electric for 600
LPT Case components. The total value of the order is approximately SEK 300
million.

The order is expected to keep about 20 persons employed for five years,
beginning in 2001. The LPT (Low-Pressure Turbine Case) is a component in
the CF6-80C and CF6-80E aircraft engines used in the Boeing 747 and 767

and the Airbus A300 and A310, as well as the Airbus A330.
"The LPT Case is the largest specialized component produced by the
Commercial Engines Division," says Eva Wikman, who is in charge of the
deal with General Electric. We secured the order in the face of tough
competition from producers throughout the world, principally in Asia.

Volvo Aero is one of the world's largest suppliers of LPT Cases. Seven out
of ten LPT Cases in large commercial aircraft engines are supplied by
Volvo.
