Mr Anders Birgersson has been appointed as new managing director and CEO
at VBG AB and also managing director at the subsidiary VBG Produkter AB.

Mr Birgersson, born 1958, is presently employed in the ESAB Group as
business manager Welding Equipment ESAB Europe.
He will take up his duties on May 21, 2001.

Present MD and CEO Mr Richard Persson will remain in the company until his
retirement in mid 2002.

VBG AB in Vänersborg is the parent company of an engineering group with
production facilities in Sweden and Germany and sales branches in Norway,
Denmark and the USA. The business is concentrated on Truck Equipment -
comprising of coupling equipment, fifth wheel, automatic tyre chains, drop
side pillars and other equipment for heavy vehicles. An additional
business area covers Machine Elements whose shaft-hub connections and
friction springs are delivered to machine industry and high tech companies
all over the world.
The VBG B-share is registered on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
