Vattenfall to complement information to the EU

The European Commission has asked Vattenfall, within the framework of the ongoing so-called “phase-1 investigation”, to submit complementary information on the deal with the Danish company Dong no later than 12 December. After this, the Commission will be able to decide, by early January 2006 at the latest, whether it has sufficient data for a decision or whether it needs to conduct a more detailed investigation.

“The Commission will continue its investigation when we have submitted the information requested. It is positive that the Commission is examining all possible aspects of our agreement with Dong. We are doing all we can to be open and to help with this work,” says Mikael Kramer, Director of Mergers & Acquisitions at Vattenfall.
