11/5/2003 3:29 AM EST
Vattenfall will co-ordinate the Nordic operations of the Group from 1
January 2004 and Hans von Uthmann, formerly President of Duni AB, will
head these operations. He will begin working at Vattenfall on 17
November as an Executive Vice President.
Vattenfall's operations in Sweden, Finland and the other Nordic
countries will be co-ordinated in line with the same principles that
already apply to Vattenfall's operations in Germany.
Vattenfall Nordic will be headed by Hans von Uthmann, formerly President
and CEO of Duni AB.
Hans von Uthmann is 45 years old. Before joining Duni in 2000, he was
President of AB Svenska Shell for four years. He held senior posts in
the Shell Group - in Sweden and abroad - after joining the company in
1984. He is a member of the Board of Fortum, but will now resign from
this post. He is also Chairman of the Board of Salcomp Oy and a member
of the Board of DIF AB.
"In the present stage of Vattenfall's development, in which we are
consolidating on an increasingly integrated European market, it is
natural to co-ordinate the Nordic countries under a joint management.
Hans von Uthmann's experience and expertise make him well suited to lead
this restructuring process," says Lars G Josefsson, President and CEO of
Vattenfall AB.
