Two new Board members in Vattenfall

TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS IN VATTENFALL

Maarit Aarni, Finland, and Lone Fønss Schrøder, Denmark, have been
appointed new Board members of Vattenfall at the Extraordinary General
Meeting held today, Thursday. The EGM also approved an extra dividend of
SEK 190 Million, as proposed.

Vattenfall holds Extraordinary General Meeting

An Extraordinary General Meeting for Vattenfall AB will be held on
Thursday 11 December 2003 at 13.00 at Vattenfall's head office, Birger
Jarlsgatan 33, Stockholm.

The main items on the agenda will be a decision on the payment of an
extra dividend and the election of two new Board members.

The Board will propose that the EGM approves an extra dividend of SEK
190 000 000.

Vattenfall's nine-month report 2003

- Net sales increased by 13 per cent to SEK 81,682 million (SEK 72,241 m)
- Operating profit increased by 28 per cent to SEK 11,131 million (SEK 8,668 m)*
- Net profit increased by 59 per cent to SEK 5,774 million (SEK 3,625 m)*
- Net debt was reduced by almost SEK 10 billion to SEK 65.6 billion (SEK 75.2 b)

Hans von Uthmann appointed Head of Vattenfall Nordic

Vattenfall will co-ordinate the Nordic operations of the Group from 1
January 2004 and Hans von Uthmann, formerly President of Duni AB, will
head these operations. He will begin working at Vattenfall on 17
November as an Executive Vice President.

Vattenfall's operations in Sweden, Finland and the other Nordic
countries will be co-ordinated in line with the same principles that
