SwedPower involved in phase-out of Ignalina

Vattenfall's consulting company SwedPower will be involved in the phase-
out of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Station in Lithuania. The company is
part of a consortium of European consulting firms that, following long
and intensive negotiations, has now signed a contract for the deal.

Plan announced for integration of German power companies

The newly-formed German power group "Neue Kraft" and its majority
shareholder, Vattenfall AB, presented in Berlin today an overall
business plan for the Group.

New Human Resources Director at Vattenfall

Ann-Charlotte Dahlström, Stockholm, has been appointed as Senior Vice President, Corporate Human Resources at Vattenfall AB.

Vattenfall sells power companies in Peru

Vattenfall has now concluded the sale of its assets in Peru to the
American energy company NRG Energy, Inc.

Vattenfall's subsidiary Nordic Power Invest AB (NPI) is selling its
holdings in two Peruvian assets, i.e. approximately 60 per cent of Cahua
S.A. and 100 per cent of Cementos Norte Pacasmayo (CNP) S.A. to the
American energy company NRG Energy, Inc.

At its meeting on Thursday 4 October 2001, the Board of Hamburgische
Electritictäts-Werke AG (HEW) appointed Dr. Klaus Rauscher as Managing
Director of the company.
