Just in time for ABBA’s 40th anniversary, former ABBA members Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, sensationally release a new song titled Merry Christmas My Friend.
Merry Christmas My Friend is performed by the staff of Benny Andersson’s exclusive hotel in central Stockholm, Rival, and was initiated by its human resources department. The video can be viewed on the hotels website www.rival.se    

This is probably the first Christmas song ever made by the men behind the phenomenal world wide ABBA success. The closest they got to a Christmas song with ABBA as a group, was with the popular track Happy New Year, originally released in 1980 on the Super Trouper album.   

The 40th anniversary this week sees a massive dose of ABBA releases apart from the above mentioned song.  Look out for a special CD+DVD edition of the greatest hits compilation ABBA Gold, a box called ABBA – The Vinyl Collection and an ABBA app for iPhone.
