Holy Week and Easter at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square, London WC2N 4JJ
www.smitf.org Our reflections on the Eucharist – taken, blessed, broken, given - lead us into Holy Week, as we walk with Christ through his passion and death to the promise of Easter morning and the hope of resurrection. Our schedule for church services and evening concerts is as follows:
Sunday 28 March Palm Sunday
8.00am Holy Communion (BCP)
9.45am Palm Sunday Procession
Meet at the corner of St James’s Park near Admiralty Arch. Join the Choir of St Martin-in-the-Fields and the Salvation Army Band for a procession with palms, led by a donkey, to the church.
10.00am Eucharist
With the reading of the Passion Gospel.
1.00pm Service in Mandarin
2.15pm Service in Cantonese
5.00pm Choral Evensong
6.30pm Liturgy for Palm Sunday
A reflective service of words and music for the beginning of Holy Week with a reflection by a member of the congregation.

The first of the “Three Great Days” is marked with the Eucharist of the Last Supper, including foot washing; the Stripping of the Sanctuary and the Watch with Christ in his Passion.

We begin in darkness and silence and, with the lighting of the Easter Fire and Candle, move to the light and life of Resurrection in a fanfare of joyful sounds.
