New Presidents for SSAB´s Steel Operations

Anders Werme has been appointed President for SSAB Tunnplåt. Anders
Werme is at present President of SSAB Oxelösund and he will succeed Curt
Johansson who retires.

Bengt Nilsson, today President of Uddeholm Tooling, has been appointed
President for SSAB Oxelösund.

Both Anders Werme and Bengt Nilsson will assume their positions in
spring 2004.

Anders Werme, born in 1956, is PhD graduated from the Royal Institute of
Technology in Stockholm. In 1994 he was appointed Project Manager for
the construction of a new 4-high rolling mill at SSAB Oxelösund. This
rolling mill is a very important part of SSAB Oxelösund´s development of
high-strength niche products. After that he was in charge of SSAB
Oxelösund´s sales organization in the Far East before he was appointed
President in 2000.

Bengt Nilsson, born in 1961, is technical physicist graduated from the
Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. He was Production Manager
for the tube division at Ovako Steel when he in 1998 was appointed
Production Manager at Uddeholm Tooling. In 1999 he was appointed
President for Uddeholm Tooling.

- I am very pleased that Anders Werme and Bengt Nilsson have
accepted to take over the responsibility for the two steel producing
companies within the SSAB Group, says Anders Ullberg, President and CEO
of the SSAB Group, in his comment on the appointments. With their
backgrounds both of them have excellent qualifications to succeed in
securing and continuing the niche orientation towards our most high-
strength products both within strip steel and heavy plate.
