Continued positive trend for SSAB

SSAB today reported its results for the first three quarters of 2005. Profit after financial items for the third quarter slightly exceeded the record result posted last year and amounted to SEK 933 (923) million. Profit for the first three quarters thereby increased by SEK 1,947 million to SEK 4,473 (2,526) million. Cash flow for the same period amounted to SEK 3,931 (1,594) million.

SSAB today presented its results for the first half of 2005. Profit after financial items for the second quarter was largely uncharged compared with the record profit posted for the first quarter and amounted to SEK 1,748 (921) million. Half year profit thus increased by SEK 1,937 million till SEK 3,540 (1,603) million.

Strong backing for SSAB’s redemption programme

SSAB’s redemption programme won 98.8 per cent backing, entailing that applications were submitted for the redemption of close to10 million shares in exchange for payment in cash of SEK 210 per share. Board Members
Re-election of Carl Bennet, Anders G Carlberg, Per-Olof Eriksson, Sverker Martin-Löf, Marianne Nivert, Anders Nyrén, Matti Sundberg and Anders Ullberg. Sverker Martin-Löf was appointed Chairman of the Board.

Dividend
