Sectra announces its multi-year agreement with Nashville General Hospital at Meharry.  Sectra’s suite of web-based, integrated RIS/PACS solutions for radiology, breast imaging and orthopaedics will enable the hospital to automate workflow, speed image distribution and report turnaround to improve its service level to referring physicians and increase referring volume.

IT and medical technology company Sectra reported a profit after tax of SEK 340.0 million for the six-month period, May – October 2011, including the operation being discontinued. The profit includes a preliminary capital gain of SEK 322.6 million generated by the divestment of the MicroDose operations, which was finalized during the second quarter.

University Hospitals in Cleveland (UH), USA, has been announced the winner in the category “Humanitarian/Environmental Impact” in the Mission-Critical Innovations Awards, a worldwide competition presented by HP and Intel®. The competition has rewarded UH for its disaster-tolerant Sectra PACS solution for processing and archiving of digital radiology images.

The Faculty of Health Sciences at Linköping University in Sweden has invested in Sectra Visualization Table. The faculty will use the table for training and instruction purposes in all of its seven education programs.

Centre d’Imagerie de Morges, an imaging center in the canton of Vaud, is the first facility in Switzerland to offer women an opportunity to combine their mammography examination with osteoporosis detection in a single examination. In this manner, women can examine their bone health and prevent fractures at an early stage, thereby avoiding unnecessary suffering and healthcare costs, and the center can give better service with a combined diagnosis at the same visit. The assessment of breast cancer and bone health in a single examination is made possible by an online service from the Swedish IT and medical-technology company Sectra.

Today, the IT and medical technology company Sectra held an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) at the company’s headquarters in Linköping, Sweden. Pursuant to the Board’s proposal, the EGM resolved that SEK 5 per share be transferred to shareholders through a 2:1 share split, combined with a mandatory redemption process and stock dividend. All in all, the decision entails that SEK 184,210,440 will be repaid to shareholders.

At RSNA 2011 in Chicago, the medical imaging IT company Sectra will launch support for bone segmentation and measurement on its visualization table to accommodate even better the surgical pre-operative planning workflow.

At RSNA 2011 in Chicago, Sectra will showcase support for the display and review of breast tomosynthesis images in Sectra Breast Imaging PACS.

Sectra is taking the next step to satisfy its users’ requests for secure communication when using various smartphone and tablet models. This will be facilitated by implementing Sectra’s security solution for mobile IP telephony, the Sectra Panthon,  on the Android technology platform. Customers will be able to receive deliveries as early as during the first half of 2012.
