Sectra launches web deployable PACS

Sectra, one of the major diagnostic imaging providers in the world,
launches the new release of Sectra PACS(TM) based upon a new web
deployment strategy.
Sectra PACS(TM) release 10 is the latest version of the award-winning
Sectra PACS(TM) product. Based on an entirely new web deployment
strategy, the system meets all the requirements needed for a full-scale,
high performance web deployable PACS.

Sectra PACS(TM) release 10 includes such features as zero client
administration for automatic workstation upgrades without user
intervention, and a roaming desktop that provides users with a
personalized desktop environment and a consistent set of tools
regardless of where the users logs on. These features, in combination
with a new concurrent licensing approach, allow Sectra PACS to be easily
and cost effectively deployed for any enterprise.

Additional features in release 10 include a new web client for image and
result distribution and integration with electronic patient record
systems, enhanced functionality for multi-slice CT and MR visualization,
an extensive E-learning tool for cost effective introduction of new PACS
users. In addition it includes Sectra PACS control tower, a powerful
system and workflow-monitoring tool aimed for department managers and
systems administrators. For image distribution a CD/DVD production
center and e-mail based teleradiology has been added.

"Important issues in today's healthcare environment are to lower costs
and create more efficient solutions while maintaining a high standard of
care," Dr Torbjörn Kronander, President of Sectra Imtec states. "With
this focus, new features have been developed for Sectra PACS release 10
to ensure that individual healthcare providers, from radiology and
cardiology to clinical specialties such as orthopedic surgery, have the
imaging tools they need. Further, system administration and upgrades can
be performed with minimal effort," he continues.

Sectra will showcase Sectra PACS release 10 at the Radiological Society
of North America (RSNA), the largest radiology exhibition in the world
in November in Chicago. Overall, the theme for RSNA 2003 will be
demonstrating how Sectra PACS can be used as a basis for imaging
solutions that meet the challenges of radiologists as well as their
clinical colleagues throughout the enterprise.
