Margareta Lewin appointed Head of Human Resources

Margareta Lewin has been appointed Head of Human Resources, and a member of
Scania's Executive Management. She will assume her new post on 15 January
1999.

Ms. Lewin was appointed as a consultant on 1 September 1998 to undertake a
total review of Scania's personnel function.

During the last ten years, Margareta Lewin has been Head of Human Resources of
the AGA Group and, more recently, of the Esselte Group. She established her
own firm of consultants, specialising in managerial and leadership issues, at
the beginning of 1998.
