Rejuvenation is Expanding- First Stop: Los Angeles

The Company is the Newest Addition to the Thriving Hub of Home Stores and Renowned Restaurants at the Helms Bakery District
PORTLAND, Ore. July 12, 2011 – After exploring nationwide opportunities, Rejuvenation, America’s largest manufacturer of classic American lighting and house parts, announced that it would be opening its third retail location this September, in Los Angeles, California. The new store will be located in the historic Helms Bakery District, which resides in a restored 1931 art deco building. The company will offer the same handcrafted, period-authentic lighting, and house parts, along with furniture, and one of a kind salvage finds, that can be found in it’s Portland and Seattle stores.

Rejuvenation owner and founder, Jim Kelly, reflects on why the company chose Los Angeles as the first stop in its expansion plans:

“Our Los Angeles customers have told us they want us to land in their home town for a while now.   L.A.'s love of great design and the range of architecture in the city, from bungalows to mid-century modern homes and buildings, make this feel like an excellent match.”

Rejuvenation was seeking an old building with a rich history, which made Helms a standout location. Beloved by Southern Californians, Helms produced delicious treats from 1931 to 1969, and is now a hot spot for home décor retailers, renowned restaurants, and community gatherings.

Helms Bakery owner, Wally Marks, shares many of the same core values as Rejuvenation. He explains why Rejuvenation is such a great fit for the Helms Bakery District:

“Rejuvenation’s aesthetic, mission and period-authentic products perfectly complement the Bakery’s collection of successful stores and quality home furnishings. We are passionate about historic preservation at the Bakery and partnering with Rejuvenation enables us to further share that passion and experience with our customers.”

Giving Back to the Community

Supporting vibrant and sustainable communities where Rejuvenation employees and customers live and work has long been amongst the company’s core values. Historically, their charitable efforts have primarily been in the areas of housing, historic preservation, the arts, and the environment. To that end, the company has established a partnership with PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) in Los Angeles. Through this partnership, Rejuvenation will donate 1% of the store’s sales directly to the charity.

A Grand Opening Party is planned for October 13th. Guests are invited to visit the new space, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and drinks, while mingling with like-minded members of their community. The first 250 guests will receive swag bags including a raffle ticket for a chance to win a trip to Portland, with additional tickets available for purchase. A silent auction...
