ONCOlog Medical QA AB and the Department of Radiation Oncology at University Medical Center Mannheim have signed a Research and an Evaluation Program about the use of PatLog© system from ONCOlog Medical in the daily treatment of radiotherapy patients with the Elekta Synergy© linac.
The PatLog© system consists of unique tools for immobilization of radiotherapy patients on the treatment table plate with a reclining device outside the treatment room and thereafter transporting the patients on an auto controlled carrier to the treatment room with automatic docking into treatment position. 

The PatLog© system has been developed in its first application for proton therapy at the WPE (Westdeutsches Protonentherapiezentrum Essen) clinic in Essen in co-operation with the Belgian company IBA (Ion Beam Applications).

The PatLog© installation in Mannheim and its use for image guided radiation therapy (IGRT) will, with support from two other Swedish companies - Elekta and C-Rad, prove its impact on greater treatment accuracy, increased patient well-being and higher productivity at the Mannheim Radiation Therapy clinic.

The PatLog© system is already installed and has been technically verified. The Program will continue until May/June 2011.
