The board of directors of O2 Vind AB ( "O2") have decided to withdraw the proposed listing, as the demand from investors was not sufficient to ensure a successful post IPO life on the stock exchange.
- As the interest has not proved satisfactory to provide O2 with a broad shareholder base and to ensure a successful trading in the share after listing, we will now continue as a privately held and profitable company. With support of our shareholders, we will continue the development of wind power in Sweden, perhaps at a slightly lower pace, says Johan Ihrfelt, CEO O2.
O2 has a history since 1991 and has developed one fifth of all wind power in Sweden. With 37 wind turbines (74 MW) in operation, O2 is currently the largest owner of onshore wind power. Further, O2 has a strong project portfolio of about 2,000 MW and has secured a significant part of the most attractive wind sites in Sweden. The need for new renewable energy production will increase with the increasing demand for electricity and a growing need to replace outdated power plants. The owners of O2 are Proventus, FAM, the founders and management.
