SSAB appoints two new Heads of Business Areas

SSAB today appointed new Heads of the SSAB Americas and SSAB EMEA Business Areas. Both will become members of SSAB’s Group Executive Committee. Charles Schmitt will head the Americas Business Area. He is a member of SSAB America’s management team and currently head of the Southern Business Unit in SSAB Americas. Melker Jernberg, currently SVP at the truck and bus manufacturer Scania, will be the new Head of EMEA.

SSAB becomes full owner of Tibnor

SSAB is becoming the full owner of the steel and non-ferrous metals distributor Tibnor. This is taking place by SSAB, which currently owns an 85% stake in the company, acquiring Outokumpu’s 15% minority stake.
