The youngest member of Blackpool Zoo’s flamingo flock thinks it is a zoo keeper!
Shortly after hatching on July 18th this year, the fluffy flamingo ‘imprinted’ on the first living creature it saw - namely James Mulvany , Blackpool Zoo’s Senior Bird and Reptile Keeper.
When three flamingo eggs were laid earlier in the year keepers took the decision to incubate and hand rear the chicks after previous breeding attempts...

Sightings of Blackpool Zoo’s first ever baby red panda have been very rare and time is running out to get a last, or indeed, first look!
Keepers recently confirmed that the cub, nicknamed Scarlett after the infamous Pimpernel, is a girl, which means she will leave the zoo to join another collection to continue the breeding programme for the vulnerable species.
