Given that major shareholders of Scania AB (“Scania”) have stated that they are not prepared to accept the public offer of MAN Aktiengesellschaft (“MAN”) to the shareholders in Scania as announced on 18 September 2006 and as supplemented from time to time thereafter (the “Offer”) and it is clear that MAN’s condition for the Offer to acquire more than 90% of the total number of shares and votes in Scania cannot be met MAN has decided to withdraw the Offer. Following clearance by the Swedish Securities Council, MAN hereby an-nounces that MAN withdraws the Offer.
