Ending School Violence

The two recent events in Chardon, OH and Long Beach, CA where students have died at the hands of their classmates are another example of today's culture of violence spinning out of control.
In both cases of recent school violence, signs were missed where prevention and intervention could have been employed.  While the media has focused on the incidents themselves, it's also important to look at what is being done for prevention and intervention around the country.  The non-profit educational organization, Lesson One, has been working with schools and communities nationally to teach self-control and other skills to children so they internalize them in order to avoid bullying, violence and other risk-taking behaviors.  I am currently working with schools in southern California and can make myself available for interviews, in-studio or on-site demonstrations at a school at any time.  While the subject is serious, the lessons are extremely hands-on and visually exciting.  The change...
