Direct sales jewelry/lingerie company offers moms a way to earn extra cash
East Providence, R.I. – May 4, 2011— Returning to the workforce after having children or being laid off may mean making less than when previously employed, according to reports in the New York Times and U.S. News.
Women facing the economic crunch of the Great Recession are finding ways to supplement their diminished income. For working moms hoping to make extra cash, direct sales from home offers a flexible schedule and a surprising income.
Anita Hunt, a mother of six in the Bronx, New York City, has been a consultant with Latasia since November 2006. Latasia is a leading home party jewelry and lingerie company that focuses on home party sales. Home party selling allows sales people to promote products through a network they create during festive social events. Since products are brought to the party, attendees get try out the products before purchase.
Hunt, who has a second full time job as an office manager for a doctor’s office, found Latasia after a previous employer folded. Hunt enjoys the benefits of making additional income while setting her own hours around her hectic schedule.
“Because I am independent, I own my own business and I work when I want to. It’s very flexible. I set my own hours,” Hunt said. “I set my schedule around the family schedule.”
