Architect and General Contractor Selected for First Phase of LA BioMed’s New Campus Master Plan

LOS ANGELES (Nov. 11, 2011) - The Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute at Harbor–UCLA Medical Center (LA BioMed) has announced its selection of the architect and general contractor as part of the initial phase for the creation of a 10.25-acre research park located within the 72-acre Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California. LA BioMed, one of the largest independent, not-for-profit biomedical research institutes in the country, is working closely with the County of Los Angeles to implement a public-private partnership in Biotechnology.
LA BioMed has selected ZGF Architects LLP, a national architectural, planning, and interior design firm to develop an efficient, innovative, highly flexible, and high-performance research facility that is both reflective and supportive of LA BioMed’s vision.
