H&M opens its second Manhattan store

H&M, Hennes & Mauritz, the Swedish-based clothing retailer recently successfully launched in the US, will be opening its second Manhattan store this month. • Group turnover for the nine months period amounted to SEK 25,428 M
(SEK 23,549 M), an increase of 8 per cent compared with the same period
last year. In comparable currencies 13 per cent.

• Profit after financial items was SEK 2,613 M (SEK 3,209 M), a
decrease of 19 per cent compared with the same period last year, mainly
due to price reductions, larger than usual, of SEK 375 M.

H&M opens its first stores in Spain

H&M, Hennes & Mauritz, is opening its first store in Spain in Barcelona, Glories 6th of April, followed by two additional store openings in Zaragoza in the shopping centers of Grancasa, April 7, and Augusta, April 13. The fourth opening will take place during May in Barcelona la Maquinista. In fall 2000 it's planned to open in the center of Madrid and in Spring 2001 in Valencia.

The Managing Director of H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB, Mr Fabian Månsson, is leaving his duties in the H&M Group. The Board of Directors has appointed Rolf Eriksen, currently the Managing Director of H&M's Danish subsidiary, as the new Managing Director of the H&M Group.
