The first of its kind in Canada or anywhere else for that matter.
Port Perry, Ontario – August 9, 2011 – Forever Friends Bridal held their first ever Bridal Wars Event on Sunday, August 7th at their store in Port Perry, Ontario. The first-of-its-kind event gave Brides-To-Be the opportunity to win more than $20,000 in wedding-related prizes.
“This event started out as a fun little competition to allow brides to win some prizes and we were not even sure how well it would turn out when the idea first came up” says Colleen Ferguson, President of Forever Friends Bridal. “Now we have so many people interested in the event from players to sponsors we feel we have stumbled onto something really great here”.
Twenty teams of 4 raced their way through different wedding-themed stations. The first two team mates laced up a wedding gown, made a wedding cake out of marshmallows, unwrapped a bridal shower present and then exchanged the present with the other two teammates who had to do it all over again but in reverse.
The fastest ten teams then advanced their brides onto the cake-eating event where the brides had to eat their way through a “coupon filled” cake using only their mouth. Prizes in the cake, donated by local businesses totaled more than $20,000. Each cake-eating bride was guaranteed to win two prizes.
Along with all the fun of the races, a Blow Out Sale continues inside...
