Effnet expands its header compression market

Effnet AB, a leading provider of header compression software for wireless and fixed networks, today announced that it has licensed its Header Compression technology to a leading US-based supplier to the safety, emergency and rescue sector. The customer delivers highly reliable and secure communication network systems to the public sector all around the world.

The public safety, emergency and rescue networks work stand-alone or in combination with available local commercial networks. These networks provide secure and cost-effective access to information via emerging technologies such as VoIP and wireless. The need to get quick access to information together with basic voice communication has led to a combination of standard cellular network components with IP-networks.

The Header Compression technology will be integrated into a self-contained, mobile, single box solution capable of providing cellular communication anywhere. The solution acts as a gateway between cellular systems and VoIP-based networks.
