(September 6, 2011 – Tempe, AZ) - Author Donis Casey took a love for genealogy and turned it into a successful mystery series. Based in the early 20th century with a strong woman protagonist, Casey takes us back to a simpler time … times were simpler weren’t they? Her books are a fascinating blend of history and mystery as in each novel a mystery is solved that involves the leading character’s family members. Join her on at 7 p.m. at Changing Hands bookstore as she and author/actress Mara Purl present their thoughts in a lively discussion on how head and heart guide one in life choices. The reading and book signing will benefit local Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) that provides continuing education grants and scholarships to women. The event is free and refreshments will be served.
Casey began her professional life as a teacher, then as a librarian for the University of Oklahoma and finally, Arizona State University. Leaving academia in 1988, Casey opened her Scottish import gift shop in downtown Tempe.
