Cloetta Fazer Chocolates Ltd. has entered into employee co-determination negotiations regarding staff redundancies at its factory in Vantaa, which will affect between 25 and 35 employees working in production.

On basis of a large-scale study on Cloetta Fazer's production structure conducted in the spring of 2004, the company plans significant changes in all five production facilities in Sweden, Finland and Poland.

In September this year, co-determination talks were started for the closure of the Norrköping factory. According to plan, production volumes from Norrköping will be moved primarily to the factories in Ljungsbro, Sweden, and Lappeenranta, Finland.

Production transfers from the Vantaa factory will take place at year-end. This, together with extensive efficiency improvement measures, will give rise to redundancies in Vantaa.
