FIRST LINE GETS TECHNICAL

Technical Sales Manager Appointment
As a further sign of its commitment to pursue technical excellence in its products and product support, First Line has expanded its technical team with the appointment of Iain Gamble as the technical sales manager for both the First Line and Borg & Beck brands.
Iain has a great deal of experience in the industry as he started his motor trade career in 1983 with Motorists’ Discount Centres. After a stint with Klearway Motor Factors he joined Partco, before moving to CES via Edmunds Walker and Autela in 2000.
With his move from factoring to the distribution side of the aftermarket, Iain brings a different perspective, which will help First Line to communicate its technical support message to its customers.
“Rather than being a purely technical role, my responsibility is to communicate how our technical developments help our customers and their businesses”, explains Iain. “Because I have so many years experience within the factoring side of the market, I understand how the average workshop works and therefore the kind of technical information that the factor needs to provide for them, which is not necessarily the full technical data of a given product.
“I’ll obviously be working alongside the sales team and helping our customers with workouts and other practical initiatives which will allow them to communicate clearly with the workshop the technical points that are relevant to them and why the technical developments made to the products in both First Line and Borg & Beck portfolios benefit them in terms of quality, reliability and value for money.”
First Line’s general sales manager, Terry Fisher said: “We identified the fact that we needed to create a position that provided us with a conduit through which our customers can communicate better with workshops, and in Iain we have found the ideal person for the role.
“Iain has the experience to take the most relevant points of our technical information and clearly explain why they are good for the workshop and how to make that information easy to communicate, and as a classic car enthusiast and all round petrol head, Iain has the ability to relate with every sector of the business.”
