CARDO INAUGURATES NEW PLANT IN HUNEDOARA, ROMANIA

Cardo AB today inaugurated a new plant in Hunedoara, Romania, within its Door & Logistics Solutions division. As a result, it is meeting the market need for production in Eastern Europe while strengthening its position in the emerging markets around the Black Sea and in Romania.
“This investment should be seen as helping to achieve our ambition of having the lowest production costs in the industry,” says Peter Aru, Cardo’s President and CEO. “What’s more, there is strong growth in transport, logistics and retail in the eastern parts of Europe and with this investment in Romania we are strengthening our position in a strongly growing region.”
Under its Crawford brand, Door & Logistic Solutions offers complete solutions in the fields of industrial doors, docking systems and service. By establishing the production plant in Hunedoara, Door & Logistic Solutions is finalizing its efforts to focus the manufacture of docking solutions at three units: in Spain, Romania and China. Production in Hunedoara is expected to be in full operation as of the end of 2007.
“It feels great to be able to inaugurate a modern plant to which we have also succeeded in attracting very well qualified employees. This gives us a competitive production unit, and I am convinced that we will remain strong for many years to come,” says Peter Aru.
