Capio-owned Actica Omsorg selling its holding in
elder-care properties
Actica has sold its entire 28,3 percent holding in Bokbacken Fastigheter
AB to Kungsleden AB for SEK 30 M. Actica and Kungsleden have prepared a
cooperation agreement that will create the foundation for future joint
investments in elder care.
Capio-owned Actica Omsorg has sold its 28.3 interest in Bokbacken
Fastigheter AB to Kungsleden which thereby becomes the sole owner of
Bokbacken Fastigheter AB. An agreement has also been reached whereby
Actica will be able to lease space in future Kungsleden elder-care
buildings. An agreement to work together to take advantage of future
opportunities in elder care has also been prepared and the main aim is
to jointly offer municipalities integrated solutions for retirement
homes, covering both the property ownership and the operation.
Capio will continue to develop elder care facilities within the Group.
Actica Omsorg's trademark, "On your terms," has gradually gained
acceptance in the market and today stands for high-quality individually
adapted care. Actica's "secure living" is a concept consisting of a
combined care and service facility. The first facility, comprising
approximately 200 apartments, has now been started in Halmstad. During
2003 Actica will open two newly built housing units in Lerum, outside
Göteborg, and Skarpnäck, on the outskirts of Stockholm.
Capio's total elder-care operations in 2003 will amount to more than SEK
800 M, including slightly more than SEK 700 M in Sweden This makes
Actica Omsorg one of the largest players in the elder care field in
Sweden
