Capio enters Finnish radiology market

Through its Radiology Business Area, Capio has signed an agreement in
principle to acquire Finnish radiology company, Mediscan Oy. The
transaction will be effected on February 1, 2002. This is the first
acquisition made by Capio in the Finnish market.

Mediscan Oy works with magnetic resonance tomography (MR) and computer
tomography (CT). The company, which has annual revenues of FIM 10 M
(approximately SEK 16 M), is based in Helsinki and has a smaller unit in
Lahti. The company's personnel consist chiefly of radiologists and other
medical professionals. Mediscan Oy was the first to start CT
examinations in Finland in 1978.

"Through this introductory acquisition, we are demonstrating that the
Finnish market is important for Capio. We have prepared ourselves for
some time to make this move into Finland and Mediscan is the first of
more transactions to come in this market," says Per Båtelson, President
and CEO of Capio.

The MR market is expanding rapidly in Finland. The new technology, in
combination with increased availability, has created a strong demand
from referring physicians.

Finland, based on professional know-how and experience, will be
