AnorexiCenter, owned by Capio, opens new unit in Malmö

Following the public procurement within the area of eating disorders, the
Health Care District of south-western Skåne has signed an agreement with
AnorexiCenter in Varberg regarding daycare and out-patient therapy for
patients suffering of anorexia/bulimia. The 3-year contract has an annual
volume of SEK 8,5 M and can be extended.

After the turn of the year, AnorexiCenter will open a new treatment unit
for patients in the catchment area of Malmö, Trelleborg, Svedala and
Vellinge. This new unit will specialise in daycare and out-patient
counselling. AnorexiCenter, having procured the whole volume, will now be
responsible for vital parts of the region's daycare and out-patient
operations. These operations are regarded as complementary to the services
carried out at MAS University Hospital and Trelleborg's hospital.

at AnorexiCenter in Varberg and we know that this investment in Malmö is
longed-for. There is a great demand for cognitive behaviour therapy and we
are very happy to contribute to the expansion of eating disorder treatment

Since 1992, AnorexiCenter i Varberg AB has had clinics as well as training
apartments and "step-down" living for persons suffering of anorexia
and/or bulimia. The unit has 24 beds for in-patient care and also provides
for out-patient care. Treatment is based on a scientific cognitive
approach and comprises psychotherapy, eating training, physiotherapy,
relaxation exercises, massage, social training, practical accomplishments,
etc. The aim is to re-integrate the patient back into their normal way of
living. Patients are referred by specialists in both child and adult
psychiatry in the whole of Scandinavia as well as by the social service,
the regional social insurance office, employees, etc. AnorexiCenter is
part of Capio's Business Area Psychiatry, with operations in Stockholm,
Varberg, the UK and Switzerland.
