LOVE IS IN THE AIR AT AYLESHAM COURT

June Mellor and Alan Coltman, two residents of Bupa’s Aylesham Court Nursing and Residential Home, Leicester, are preparing for their wedding day on Wednesday 24 March. The couple, who are both aged 82, will exchange vows at the home surrounded by family, friends and fellow residents.

June and Alan have been together for over thirty years, having both been married before. Alan served for many years with the Seaforth Highlanders reaching the rank of Sergeant, and June worked in retail, working her way up to become manageress. They met at a local dance, where it took Alan several weeks to pluck up the courage to ask June out, but they have been constant companions ever since.

Relatives have planned ‘stag’ and ‘hen’ celebrations for the evening before the wedding. Alan will be having drinks with his future stepsons to toast the marriage and June will join her daughters for a pamper session.

When asked about finally becoming Mrs Alan Coltman, June commented: “I am excited and proud to be spending the rest of my life with Alan. He is the most good hearted person I know and the love of my life”.

Bonny Davies, activities coordinator at Aylesham Court commented: “June and Alan make a lovely couple, and we are thrilled that they have finally decided to tie the knot. We are very excited to be able to share in their special day, and all of our residents are looking forward to being part of the celebrations”.
