TNT wear it pink in support of Breast Cancer Campaign

Last Friday, employees at TNT Express took part in a fun day of pink themed activity in support of Breast Cancer Campaign’s annual wear it pink day.

The pink parade saw TNT people sporting items of pink having donated £1 each to Breast Cancer Campaign, the charity that funds research into finding a cure and helping treat cancer.

Events at the TNT Uk and Ireland head office in Atherstone included a second hand book sale, hamper raffle, salsa class and buffet lunch. One of the favourite pink activities among big-hearted employees was the opportunity to drive a TNT long-haul articulated Lorry around the Hub at Kinsbury for a donation of £15. A Wii bowling competition was also popular and cost only £1 to play.

Senior Executives and Managers did their bit by jointly covering 26.4 miles on a running machine and static bike, all to raise money to help fund breast cancer research. Fifteen minute health checks in association with Bupa were offered throughout the day, testing blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Similar activities took place in other TNT offices across the UK and Ireland.

TNT has supported Breast Cancer Campaign for a number of years and is committed to raising as much as possible for the charity which aims to beat breast cancer.

Fraser Thomson, Communications Manager, said: "TNT is always keen to support the marvellous Breast Cancer Campaign's Wear it Pink day.

"Many of our people have been touched in some way by cancer and they are always keen to enter into the pink spirit of fundraising and make as much money as possible for a most worthy cause while having a lot of fun."

Last year hundreds of thousands of people took part in wear it pink raising a staggering £2.5 million for breast cancer research to help improve survival rates for the one in eight women who experience breast cancer during their lifetime. Every year, some 48,000 are diagnosed with breast cancer and wear it pink helps to fund vital research into the disease which affects so many.

If you missed wear it pink this year, do not worry as you can wear it pink anytime!
