The Richmond Tavern wear it pink to beat breast cancer

On Friday 28 October, staff at the Richmond Tavern in Wavertree, are planning a day of pink themed activity in support of Breast Cancer Campaign’s wear it pink day.

All staff, including the boys, will dress in items of pink and donate £2 each to Breast Cancer Campaign. Customers are also encouraged to wear it pink and donate £2 to the cause. There will be a raffle with prizes donated from local businesses and wear it pink themed games to play in return for donations. Pink themed food and drink will also be available at the pub and all donations will go to Breast Cancer Campaign to raise money for world class breast cancer research.

Bar tender Carl Griffiths, who helped organise the event said: ‘I’m supporting wear it pink because it is such a worthwhile cause, but on a more personal level, I’m supporting the event because my cousin has suffered with breast cancer and my Auntie has been recently diagnosed.’

‘We hope to raise as much as we can for Campaign and would like as many of customers as possible to get involved! So, if you fancy some pink themed fun, come along for a drink or two and help save lives!’

Last year hundreds of thousands of people took part in wear it pink raising a staggering £2.5 million for breast cancer research to help improve survival rates for the one in eight women who experience breast cancer during their lifetime. Every year, some 48,000 are diagnosed with breast cancer and wear it pink helps to fund vital research into the disease which affects so many.

It’s time to beat breast cancer and for only £2 Breast Cancer Campaign challenge you to wear it pink on Friday 28 October, at work, at home or at school and help save lives.
