Shops crowned winners of Isle of Pink Window Display Competition

Shops across the Isle of Wight were crowned the winners of the Isle of Pink’s annual Pink Window Display competition this weekend.

Overall 50 shops across the island took part in the competition, which asked shop owners to decorate their windows in pink for the month of September, and a total of eight winners from six towns were chosen for having the pinkest displays.

The winners were; Shorelines of Cowes in Cowes, Vanity Fayre in Sandown, Beardsalls Stationers in Shanklin, joint winners Beardsalls Stationers and Sew ‘n’ So in Ryde and joint winners Bizzy Lizzy’s and The Island Wine Company in Ventnor.

Lauren Baskett, Breast Cancer Campaign’s Community Development Manager, said: “We were really impressed with how much effort the shop owners and staff had put in to the displays and choosing winners from all the entries was difficult! Well done to all the winners and thanks to everyone for taking part and bringing the Isle of Pink to high streets across the island.”

There is still a chance for you to get involved in the Isle of Pink. On Friday 30 September, people across the island will taking part in wear it pink to help raise money on the last day of the Isle of Pink. To join in, all you have to do is wear pink for the day and donate £2 to charity. For more information visit www.breastcancercampaign.org, call Breast Cancer Campaign on 020 749 4114 or email
