Keith joins the American race to beat breast cancer

Budding runner Keith Weavers from Stanley, County Durham has laced up his running shoes to train for the Chicago Marathon in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign.

The retail manager will join thousands of runners at the starting line on Sunday 10 October to support his sister Julie Kelly who was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2010, she is currently undergoing treatment.

Keith said: “I’m excited to take on the Chicago Marathon for this very worthwhile cause as breast cancer affects too many women. I hope lots of people will sponsor me for my running challenge to help Breast Cancer Campaign’s mission to beat this disease.”

He added: “Just days after I return I will also be competing in the Kielder marathon and then the Newcastle marathon to raise even more money for Breast Cancer Campaign. I am very grateful for all the support I have received from everyone who has sponsored me, especially BA in Newcastle where my sister works, and also Logical utilities in Sunderland
