Get fit and help raise money for breast cancer research by signing up to take part in one of two fitness challenges coming to the island for the Isle of Pink month.
The Isle of Pink fundraising campaign is returning for the fourth year and Breast Cancer Campaign has two great events that you can take part in during the third week of September, which will be the culmination of a month of pink-filled activities.
Back by popular demand, there will be a two-hour pink-filled aerobics session. The Pink Aerobathon will include sessions of Zumba, Pilates and a Glee-themed spectacular and is open to men, women and youngsters of all levels of fitness. The Aerobathon takes place on Sunday 25 September from 11am at Carisbrooke High School. If you register before Wednesday 31 August, you can enjoy a discounted registration rate of £10!
For those who prefer to take to the saddle, you can now pedal to beat breast cancer by taking part in the Isle of Pink Night Cycle on Thursday 22 September. The event, which is part of the Isle of Wight Cycling Festival, will see participants take part in a 60 minute continuous cycle at the Smallbrook Stadium in Rye. You can cycle as part of a team or take on the challenge alone. Registration for this challenge is also only £10, and you can raise money by asking friends and family to sponsor your efforts!
To register to take part in either the cycle or aerobics event and to take advantage of the discounted £10 Aerobathon fee, please visit

Lauren Baskett, Breast Cancer Campaign’s Community Development Manager, said: “These challenge events will be a great climax to this year’s Isle of Pink activities. Last year, the aerobics event was hugely popular and we’re sure the night cycle will be just the same. Sign up now to take part in these pink challenges as part of the Isle of Pink and help the 48,000 people diagnosed with breast cancer each year.”
There will also be plenty of other activities taking place throughout September including supermarket collections, a Pink Day at the Zoo, a Quiz Night and fundraising stalls at many events and festivals, including Bestival. For full details of everything taking place, visit
