Press release
For immediate release: 10 January 2012
Breast Cancer Campaign is encouraging runners across the UK to fight the festive flab and raise money for research at this year’s Virgin London Marathon or Brighton Marathon.
With just four months to go until both races take place (one week apart), the charity wants runners from across the UK to join their running team. And with Christmas behind us, now is the perfect time to banish the bulge through training.
Karen Lambert, Events Executive at Breast Cancer Campaign: “We still have charity places left for the Brighton Marathon and we are encouraging runners to join our team. We are also welcoming those who already have places in either the Brighton or Virgin London Marathon to join us and run for breast cancer research this spring.
“Christmas is always a time for overindulgence but what better way to get back in shape than by training for one of these marathons. So far we have more than 100 runners who are committed to running and raising money for Breast Cancer Campaign at both marathons, so why not sign up today and support the 48,000 people who will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK this year.”
The Brighton Marathon takes place on Sunday 10 April followed by the London Marathon on Sunday 17 April.
To sign up for a charity place the Brighton Marathon please contact the events team on 0207 749 4114 or email
Alternatively, if you already have your own place in the Brighton Marathon or Virgin London Marathon, there is no minimum sponsorship amount. If you would like to join our team please contact us on 0207 749 4114 or email
.
