Calling all Kent thrill seekers to leap into action for breast cancer
8/9/2011 11:58 AM EST
The sky will be turning pink on 1 October as hundreds of people up and down the country will be braving a national sky dive to raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign.
The Big Pink Jump takes place on at airfields across the UK and launches the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Research charity Breast Cancer Campaign are calling on the people of Kent to sign up and brave the plunge at their local jump site in Maidstone and help them achieve their £50,000 overall fundraising target.
Freefalling through the clouds at 120mph is a not only a once in a lifetime experience, but also a perfect opportunity to help the 48,000 people diagnosed with breast cancer every year.
Kelly Walton, Breast Cancer Campaign’s Events Executive, said “If you’ve always wanted to sky dive or just fancy a challenge, then sign up for our first ever national sky dive event. The Big Pink Jump is an exhilarating way to support the fight against breast cancer and all of the money raised goes towards funding innovative world-class research. We hope that this year we can get more people than ever to take the pink plunge and help us beat breast cancer.”
Solo jumps are available to satisfy all those with a daring streak, along with tandem jumps for anyone that’s not quite ready to go it alone. Sponsorship totals start at £395 but vary depending on which jump you choose.
