Brave London breast cancer survivor dives 10,000 ft for charity!

A daring breast cancer survivor is taking to the skies in support of Breast Cancer Campaign to raise vital funds for breast cancer research.

Angela Dowsett from South East London will take part in the charity’s first ever national skydive by braving the Big Pink Jump on October 1 at Maidstone airfield to mark the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Angela was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 aged 36 and since then she has been passionate about fundraising to help beat breast cancer.

Angela says “When I was diagnosed with breast cancer it was completely unexpected, I was young, healthy and had no family history of the disease. I can’t wait to be part of a national skydive that will help raise lots of money to fund vital breast cancer research. I am definitely feeling nervous as the event approaches but it’s going to be an amazing experience and I know I will feel so proud once I’ve done it.”

Angela is depending on the generosity of people in the local community to help raise sponsorship for the charity and reach her target of £500. If you would like to help Angela with her fundraising by making a donation visit www.justgiving.co.uk/dowsett31

Kelly Walton, Breast Cancer Campaign’s Events Executive, said “If you’ve always wanted to sky dive or just fancy a challenge, then it’s not too late to sign up! The Big Pink Jump is an exhilarating way to support the fight against breast cancer and all of the money raised goes towards funding innovative world-class research. We hope that this year we can get more people than ever to take the pink plunge and help us beat breast cancer.”

If you would like to take part in a skydive or for more information about any of the charity’s fundraising events email   or visit www.breastcancercampaign.org. Jumps run all year and take place nationwide.
