Andrew’s great race to beat breast cancer

Press Release

For immediate release: September 6 2011

Budding runner Andrew Overfield from Eastfield in Scarborough is gearing up to run the Bupa Great North Run in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign.

29 year old Andrew, who is a Warehouse Manager for Dunelm Mill, will join 54,000 runners on the starting line for the 13.1 mile race in Newcastle on Sunday 18 September in memory of his mother who sadly passed away from breast cancer in November 2009.

Andrew said: “My mum, Chris Overfield, bravely fought breast cancer twice but sadly lost her battle in November 2009. I am running the Great North Run in memory of her and also to help the thousands of others who are affected by breast cancer.

“I want to raise as much money as I can to help Breast Cancer Campaign to fund vital research into breast cancer.”

Andrew also ran the Great North Run for Campaign last year and is training hard for the event which takes place in a couple of weeks time. He said: “After running the Great North Run last year, I know what to expect this time! I have been doing lots of training in preparation; it’s been hard work but will be worth it when I cross the finish line.”

To help Andrew reach his fundraising target of £350 please visit www.justgiving.com/Andy-Overfield1 and donate what you can.

With a few weeks to go until the Bupa Great North Run there is still time to join Campaign’s team. If you have your own place in the event and would like to join Andrew on Campaign’s team, please call 0207 749 4114, email   or visit www.breastcancercampaign.org
