Bong sells its Binder Business
12/20/2001 8:52 AM EST
As a final stage of Bong's consolidation to its core business, i.e.
manufacturing and sales of envelopes. an agreement has been made to sell
its binder business as per January 1st, 2002. The purchaser is a company
controlled by Per Fransson, earlier business area manager and vice
president of Bong.
The binder business has in recent years had profitability problems and
is generating a loss for the business year 2001. The purchase price
corresponds roughly to Bong's bookvalues and the sale will therefore
have only marginal effect on the result. The binder business has
revenues of approx. 55 MSEK and has 70 employees, whereof 60 in Poland
and 10 in Sweden.
Considering the buyer's relation to Bong, the transaction is subject to
approval by the Shareholders Meeting. Owners representing more than 63%
of the total ownership have declared that they are positive to the sale.
