Bong strengthens further its market position in Norway by acquiring Norsk
Konvolutt AS (Norkon) in Sandefjord, Norway.
Norkon has annual revenues of some 15 MNOK and 10 employees. Through the
acquisition, Bong's opportunities to create improved customer values on a
broader customer base will be increased.
Significant synergies are expected to be generated within production as
well as purchasing, administration and sales.
The acquisition is made with cash and the sellers are 6 private share
holders, whereof some are employed by the company.
Bong is a fast-growing international envelopes company. The Group has an
annual turnover of some SKr 2.5 billion and around 1,900 employees. It has
an annual production of some 16 billion envelopes at factories in Sweden,
Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Belgium, Poland
and Estonia. In recent years, Bong has played an active part in the
current process of restructuring in the European envelope industry and
sees valuable potential for further expansion. The acquisition of Bauwens
in January 2000 was an important step in this process, making Bong one of
Europe's leading envelope companies.
