Bisnode divests companies in construction information

Bisnode has divested Sverige Bygger AB and Norge Bygges AS, two market-leading providers of high quality and user-friendly information and marketing services for the construction industry. The buyer is the Finnish media group Talentum Oyj and the sale will generate a minor capital gain.
Together, Sverige Bygger and Norge Bygges have 85 employees and estimated annual revenue of SEK 65 million for 2009. Via daily market surveys, the companies gather and provide detailed information about developments in the construction industry, including construction projects, construction companies, tenders and procurements. Sverige Bygger and Norge Bygges offer their customers historical data about both construction projects and construction companies dating back to 1994.

“Sverige Bygger and Norge Bygges have been successful businesses for Bisnode, with driven sales staff and continuous positive product development in a true entrepreneurial spirit. With the new owners, these companies will have opportunities for exciting ongoing development,” says Mats Erwald, Regional Director Nordic.

“A central component of Bisnode’s strategy is to focus on our core business, strive for synergies and thereby increase our efficiency and profitability. In line with this approach, Bisnode has both divested and acquired a number of companies during 2009. Sverige Bygger and Norge Bygges are both successful companies, but the lack of significant synergies with Bisnode’s other operations has motivated our decision to sell,” says Johan Wall, CEO of Bisnode.
