Annika Åhnberg New Board Member of the New Food Company

Annika Åhnberg is proposed as new member of the Board of Directors of the
New Food Company, created through the combination of Hemköp and D&D
Dagligvaror, including Spar Sverige and the majority of Spar Finland. Ms.
Åhnberg will replace Maria Curman, who was previously proposed as board
member, but who has resigned from all board assignments except that for
Sveriges Television (Swedish Television).

Annika Åhnberg (born 1949) is Vice President Public Affairs of Alfa Laval
Agri AB since February 1999. Previous assignments include Project Leader
for KF Konsument 1994-96 and Minister of Agriculture in Sweden 1996-98.
Ms. Åhnberg is also Chairman of the Board of ELSA (Ethical, Legal and
Social Aspects of Genome Research and Gene Technology Research) as well as
Director of Skandia Liv, Skandia Link and HANDU AB (Research Institute for
Disabled).

The proposed members of the Board of Directors of the New Food Company are
Göran Ennerfelt (Chairman), Roger Källman (Deputy Chairman), Marcus Storch
(Deputy Chairman), Claes Andersson, Peggy Bruzelius, Nils-Erik Johansson,
Antonia Ax:son Johnson, Gösta Törnroth and Annika Åhnberg.

The Extraordinary General Meeting of Hemköp will be held on February 10,
to approve the resolution to issue new shares in connection with the
combination and elect the new Board of Directors.
