Aura Long Life celebrates 30 years on the market

It is now 30 years since the lighting company Aura Light launched its unique Long Life concept. The anniversary coincides with Aura’s 80 years-celebration as a company. Aura Light has over the years developed its focus on innovative environmental technologies and now offers Long Life products and energy-saving lighting solutions worldwide.
Aura Light has a strong focus on developing lighting solutions that the market demands. During the past year, a wide range of energy-saving lighting solutions have been introduced which gives the user 30-80% energy saving. The ever growing demand for its environmentally friendly lighting products in Sweden and internationally has led to a sharp growth of Aura Light.
“We are very proud that Long Life celebrates its 30th year this year, the same year that Aura celebrates 80 years as a company. That is no bad anniversary," says Martin Malmros, CEO and Group Director Aura Light International AB. While we constantly develop new Long Life Solutions, we now aim increasingly to be a global supplier for the users by delivering energy-saving solutions, ballasts and luminaries, as this is the direction that the market demands.
In 1980 Aura got the first patent for a new cathode design, but also on the special Long Life cup which still is part of the company's Long Life solutions. The Long Life technology means that Aura can offer high quality light sources with a lifetime that last at least three times longer than standard products.
"30 years ago, conditions were completely different to today and I still remember when we manufactured the first Long Life-lamp. The Long Life cups were assembled by hand, while now it's more a case of monitoring the machines. It's exciting to see how things progress each year," says Ingrid Hempel, who works as an operator at Aura's factory in Karlskrona, Sweden.
Now, 30 years later, Aura has 200 employees in ten different countries and supplies the whole world with green Long Life lighting solutions.
