STORA divests shares in SAS Sverige

As a step in streamlining the Group's operations, STORA has divested its entire shareholding in SAS Sverige AB. This is also in concurrence with the desire of SAS's major shareholders to increase share liquidity through a broadening of ownership. Proceeds from the sale amounted to SEK 231 million.

STORA establishes its own wholesale operations in Latvia

As part of STORA's efforts to establish its own wholesale operations in Eastern Europe, Stora Merchant has started a new fine papers wholesale company, Stora Papirs SIA, in Riga, Latvia.
Currently, work is in progress to establish the business and operations are scheduled to commence formally in January 1997.
